Darrell left us on May 19th 2011 after a courageous battle with Cancer.

As an underclassman, I looked up to Darrell.  He taught me many things.  One of the memorable was; how to use two pens in the same hand to write the "I will not do again..."  punishments we both frequently received, cutting the writing time in half.  Good stuff!

After a number of years living in Indiana and enjoying one of his favorite past times, Hot Rods, Darrell rediscovered Cushman Motorscooters.  With characteristic zeal, he enjoyed a number of Cushman Eagles, step-throughs, and, the customized versions of Eagles, with the two cylinder Vanguard engines.  Darrell was all about customizing.  Over the years he owned many very nicely customized Hot Rods and Scooters.  He had good reason to be proud of them.

Along with his brothers, Kent, Randy and Kevin, we all enjoyed going to car shows, and, motorscooter events in Portland, Indiana as well as, Cochran and Hiawassee, Georgia.

His family, his very good friend Gene Bondonese,  myself and a host of friends in Florida and Indiana will miss his humor and friendship.
