Kerry Bogard (1962)

I remember Ron well, as we attended several classes at RBHS. He sported a blonde Buzzcut and always appeared in a tailored shirt & slacks- no sloppy T-shirts & jeans for this Hornet. He was quick witted and conservative back in the day, (the opposite of some of our other classmates), ....all business!  I am certain he will be missed by family and friends.

To Kerry Bogard

Hi,  Kerry.  Yes,  we remember you in our classes!  Thank you for your kind memories of Ron.  He is Greatly missed,  after 59 years of marriage!!

Ron joined the Marines & I went to college following graduation.  We married December 1962.  In August 1964,  Ron was deployed overseas,  & was in the second wave of Marines to hit the beach in DaNang,  Vietnam.  Ron was in charge of the mechanic shop on base.  Chaplain Lecky requested for Ron to be his assistant, but the Marines needed Ron to supervise the shop.  We later learned that Chaplain Lecky was the first Chaplain to be wounded in the war.  Vietnam & Agent Orange haunted Ron his whole life,  bless his heart.  Ron crossed over January 31, 2022.

Sincerely,  Joanna Hutch Hofsommer
