(Note from Doug's sister Sandra) I want to let his classmates know that Doug passed away on 6/26/08 after a long battle with the complications of type I diabetes. Hopefully when the class gathers they will take a moment to remember Doug kindly. He had a stubborn streak that we in the family blamed on the German part of his heritage... otherwise he was a good soul who did no harm to anyone. He put up a good fight with his diease but I guess it was time for him to be with our parents and his beloved cat. Sandra A. McBride-Williams

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He sat in front of me in class for many years, beginning in elementary school I think. (Remember how they used to keep us in alphabetical order?)
