Linda and I reconnected in 2013, at a girls get together in Stuart Florida. I was so glad to reflect and talk about our lives. We had a short friendship in high school,  but one I will never forget. I have to say what I most remembered, her heart shaped face and strawberry blonde hair. I became a cosmetologist and know for a fact her hair color could never be matched. In our reconnect, after almost fifty years sensed the compassion and humility she expressed. As a teen I got my license to drive earlier than most of my friends. I was a year older than most. Here is my story

I was going to a dance, the rule was, only one passenger at a time. Well, I went to the dance with one. But left with a car full, that needed a ride home. Of course Linda was one of my passengers. An accident acured. I got distracted and ran a stop sign. To make a long story short. Everyone left the accident. I called my dad. Went through my punishment. Went to court and pleaded guilty. got fined $35.00 or 7 days in jail got restricted. Got exactly what I deserved, never thought about the others, except to thank God no one got hurt.

Linda, approached me at the 2013  get to gether, and asked me if I remembered the accident, she wanted to apologize for leaving, like I said I never thought at the time about that part of the accident,  I was just panicked at the thought of what my parents were going to do.

I was floored, as she had harbored that guilt until we met. I told her I was in the wrong and disobeyed the rules. I tear up ever time I think she felt so bad. We all do things in life, none of us go with out things we regret. I so admired her for her compassion. I want to tell her family, how blessed they were to have her as a mom, grandmother, sister and friend. She was,and is remembered as a good friend to me. I was blessed to be able to have that reconnection.

She was a geat lady and we enjoyed being with her at our yearly girl gatherings. I remember Linda and I going to PBJC together. I would pick her up and we had many laughs on the way to Jr.College. She will be missed. My prayers to her family.

Linda was in my homeroom all 4 years of high school. That's where our friendship started in 9th grade.  She was a lovely person inside and out. She raised 3 wonderful children and dearly loved her family.  We will miss her at our annual girl's get together this year.  She always had a smile on her face and only good things to say.  We had some really good times over the years.
