Arthur Rae Chesson
It is with deepest sorrow that we share the passing of Arthur Rae Chesson on March 10th, 2025. Arthur, known to most as Art, was born May 27,1947 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and spent much of his childhood and life in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Art did the majority of his work in and around vehicles, driving greyhound buses, race cars, and Alaskan tow trucks, and finally spending fifteen years as a mechanic and supervisor for the City of Palm Beach Gardens until his retirement in 2013. He spent much of his free time with his brother Joseph, fishing, hunting, racing cars, and offering mechanical advice to nearly anyone in need of help. With a memory like a bear trap, he was known for his skill at trivia and particularly his knowledge of every movie, ever.
Art is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Chesson, and father, Albert Chesson. He was 77 years old at the time of death.
Cantankerous but deeply caring, he will be dearly missed by his ‘favorite’ (i.e., only) daughter, Tammy Mager, son-in law- Jeff, grand daughters Kathleen, Samantha, and Caroline, Brother William Joseph Chesson, sister-in-law Debbie, nephews Tyler and Jeremy, a circle of best friends and brothers of choice, and many others whose lives he touched. A celebration of Arts life will be held at the Palm Beach Gardens Moose Lodge at 2pm on April 26th, 2025. All are welcome to attend. https://www.edgleycremationservices.com/obituary/arthur-rae-chesson/
