In Memory

Linda Henke (Meyers Pierce) - Class Of 1965

Linda Lou Henke Meyers Pierce was born 2/13/47 in St. Louis, Missouri. She left us to be with Jesus on 1/28/25.

Her father Glennon and mother Laverne moved to Riviera Beach when she was just 2 years old. Soon after, her brother Glenn was born in 1951, followed by brother Kirk in 1955.

Linda was raised Catholic and attended school at St. Francis of Assisi in Rivera Beach. She graduated from Riviera Beach High School in 1965.

Her first professional job was with RCA and allowed her to purchase a brand new ‘65 Mustang. She was so proud and the song Mustang Sally would get her dancing for the rest of her life.

In the summer of 1966, Linda met her first husband, Bob. They were married Dec 3 of that year.

Children followed and Jeff (1968), Brian (1970) and Brandy (1976) blessed their lives.

Life was fun as the children grew and they camped each year in the Keys, visited Disney twice a year, and enjoyed frequent family vacations.

Friends and family gathered for Football Sundays at their house. Family gatherings happened each month, with Bob playing the guitar while all visitors sang along.

Eventually Linda and Bob separated. She poured her energy into owning and running a West Palm sub shop named Sub-Urbia. Linda was the center of attention and regular customers poured in, feeling welcome and hearing all the latest gossip.

Later, she worked as an Executive Assistant at Lost Tree club for 20 years. Peers became friends, but she ran a tight ship. During that time, she met her love, Mark, in 1996.

When Jeff left for college, grandsons soon followed in Jordan, Jacob, and Jaden. In June 2022, Linda’s first great grand child was born, Jordan’s son Elliot.

Brian moved from West Palm Beach to Port St. Lucie and eventually established himself in Hobe Sound. He’s always focused on the family and wanted to be close to Linda and Brandy.

Mark and Linda’s relationship blossomed. They moved in together and shortly after, Brandy and Camron met. The family grew closer and all four were baptized together in 2002.

Mark & Linda moved to Stuart in 2004, just before Kylie, her first granddaughter was born. Cam and Brandy had two more daughters with Emma in 2008, and Jessica in 2015.

Grammy adored her girls. Right after Kylie was born, she and Mark kept her every Friday. She eventually had all the girls every week and never missed a weekend.

After each amazing Friday night, the family would meet for Saturday college football. Grammy loved the Noles, even though she steadily learned to follow Kylie’s UCF Knights. She’s also a huge Dolphins fan, but started to follow da Bears and was even known to root for the Cowboys once or twice.

Basketball season was a blast. Each year, Grammy would take her girls and Mark to Miami Heat opening day. Best yet, she always registered as a club named Bamps’ Bootcamp. For context, the granddaughters all call Mark “Bampoo”. The Heat organization would announce Bamp’s Boot Camp then scan the crowd to put a huge club on the big screen. There would stand our five favorite people year after year.

Her affinity for family time and vacation get-aways never let up. Grammy and Bampoo created new traditions with annual trips to CoCo Key water park and the Monster Jam Truck show. Let’s not forget frequent cabin trips and countless cruise ships where we were always joined by the extended family.

Holidays will never be the same. Every New Years Eve at midnight, the household had to beat pots and pans. New Years Day was celebrated with black eyed peas, collared greens and hog jaw. Easters are always exciting…each adult had to don their bunny ears and participate in the egg hunt.

More immediately, so many of us are going to miss our nightly texts. Grammy is world renowned for sending emojis to all of us…not just family. Each night, prayers, hearts, and kisses fly via text from her phone. We are going to miss those so much.

Linda is survived by her wonderful family including husband Mark, brother Glenn, sons Jeff and Brian, daughter Brandy and son-in-law Camron, her three grandsons, three granddaughters and great grandson.

I was very sad to learn of her passing. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out. We became facebook friends a few years back, and I always looked forward to her posts. Glenn, very sorry for the loss of your sister. May she R.I.P. We'll see each other in the future...until then...God has gained another angel.
