Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for posting this obit for Sandra.. I found it very helpful.. I don't remember her even tho she graduated a year before me.. and I assume you were friends?

I first heard about Sandra's marriage to Ted Nugent in an article in People Magazine in early 1975. Do you remember that one? It was mainly a story about Ted's individualist lifestyle as a bow and arrow hunter of wild game, such as deer and wild boar.. He and Sandra lived in the backwoods of Michigan, where a lot of people like him lived rugged lifestyles. He hunted, as he liked to claim, not for sport but for food. By then his solo rock guitarist career was taking off with his Cat Scratch Fever LP.. The People article mentioned, and showed a photo of, Sandra.. who appeared as a willing if not dutiful wife to her wild man-alpha male-hunter rock-god husband.. His style of playing never appealed to me, but I did like the Amboy Dukes one Top 100 hit, "Journey To The Center of The Mind," 1968.

I also recall talk around town in West Palm that, yes, she had married Nugent.. and it appears the two had met in the early 70s when he became a frequent visitor to the West Palm Beach area still with members of his Amboy Dukes.. and maybe you remember a concert that his band, and others staged at the Riviera Recreation Center in 1970.. for various reasons, I couldn't be there, but I heard about it..

One thing has me a bit confused.. was Sandra the sister of Mike Jezewski? Mike graduated in my class of 1968 and was in my Home Room and various classes, but I don't recall him having a sister.. his last name is spelled with an E and hers with an O.. maybe you can clear that up..

Another thing you can clarify.. is when and, more specifically, where she was killed.. I recall reading on a rock music forum a few years ago a thread about Ted Nugent.. I mentioned Sandra and her connection to my hometown and someone wrote that she had been killed in a car crash.. I don't know exactly when her where this occurred. Do you also know where he children are today? Are they with Nugent? or are they fully grown?

Thanks, Rob

I saw her in late seventies after a visit back to West Palm from LA. Mike is her brother and she was living in a house in Palm Beach. I played at her club the Cock N Bull then went to the house. Never got to see her again and I think she was killed in West Palm.
Peace

Sandy is mentioned in Internet free biography website, Wikipedia. For information, type: Wikipedia bio of rocker, Ted Nugent. Sandy is listed as his first wife and they were married from 1970 to 1976. She is reported to have had a fatal car crash in 1982.

I remember seeing Sandy in passing since she was from my class year but I didn't know her personally. I know she was always very nice to all and I extend my heartfelt regards to everyone.

Ted Nugent was in Riviera Beach playing @ the Wells recreation center with the Amboy Dukes..he was hired by Mike Jezowski.sandy's brother..Mike and his dad owned the Electric Matchbox at the time..I worked for them and was the manager of the West Palm Bch store..When Nugent showed up,,he stayed at the Holiday Inn on Singer Island..Mike and I met him there and had dinner..after dinner I introduced him to Sandy,,it was love at first sight..they were soon married at Saint Francis Church in Riviera Bch..Several years later, she called Phoebe and me out of the blue..it was very late at night..she was upset, but would not say much, she wanted a phone # of a friend of mine..a couple weeks later she was killed.. that's all I know..
