Jay MacGowan - Class Of 1966

MACGOWAN, Jay Robert 70, of Jupiter , FL passed away Friday; December 29, 2017. Jay moved to Riviera Beach from White Plains; NY when he was 7 years old. He graduated from Riviera Beach High School in 1966, joined the Navy, and has been a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. He retired from Publix in April 2017. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Susan MacGowan; son, Jason Matthew MacGowan; John and Penny Waller and family; Patricia Yandel and family; Numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. Jay was predeceased in death by Daughter Sarah Michelle MacGowan in 1984 and son Christopher Michael MacGowan in 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the TAYLOR &MODEEN FUNERAL HOME, 250 Center St, Jupiter, FL. Interment will follow in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens cemetery, West Palm beach, Fl. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 6-8PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Raymond (Ray) Eberling (1966)

Thanks to whoever posted this. Just heard about Jay today. Saddened to hear of the passing of another classmate. I remember Hay being particularly proud of his sports car, an Austin Healey Sprite as I recall. Mrs. Shuttleworth—our yearbook advisor—made sure a picture of it appeared in our ‘66 Sandpiper.
