Dorothy Beyer (Bennett) (1963)
I thank God that I got to see my very special "buddy" Jim at the 40th reunion for '63. We lost contact all those years since graduation but he was still the same neat guy in 2003. Jim and I were in the Army basic training together.He was a platoon leader and great one also.
I would have coffee with him at the Gun Club Cafe in Haverhill years later on many mornings.But in basic training in 1965. The Army wanting me to go to OCS [ Officer Candidate School ]. I told Jim about this and he advise me not to do it. Oh so many years ago.
You see Jim was looking out for me.If I did, I would of been a 2nd Lieutenant. in a combat zone in 1965.
