Richard Vishnesky (1963)

Bill and I were best buds in and after HS.  He was pretty useful: even a that age Bill has a beard like a grizzly and could always pass to buy the beer.

Personality-wise, I  have always thought of him as Bluto from Animal House.

Example: We were cruizin' in my car on the beach highway one night and had exactly 1 beer each and were heading back home, made a pit stop at a rest area.

Unknown to me, as I obeyed every driving law known to man, Bill had appropriated a roll of TP at the rest stop and had been letting it roll of his finger for at least a couple of miles and we had a pennant about 50 feet long flying behind us.  The cop WAS amused, then he found an empty beer can behind the seat.  That cost us a night in jail.  Bill said not to worry, he'd call his brother to get us out. He may have called, but it never happened. Typical Bill.

That was the end of my life of crime, lesson learned.

Also, we put a lot of miles on a little bug-eye sports car he had (road trip, road trip). That car and Bill looked like each other. And it must have been possessed by some guardian angel 'cause it got us back  when by  all rights we shouldn't have made it.

Party on, Bill.

I too remember Bill, he sat next to me in mechanical drawing class. And Vishnesky you're right, he was your Bluto from Animal House. That little car was a blue Fiat. One night a bunch of us pilled in, stopped at Life Liquors across from the Riviera Bch bowling alley, loaded up with beer and headed for the Beach Drive-In. We filled up that little car with popcorn and raising hell...uh, they asked/told us to LEAVE!!!! :-)

Bill and I (and Vishnesky) hung out a lot after H.S. Many wild nights cruising for beer.  A sailing trip down the coast to Pier 66 in Lauderdale with his father mixing up martinis on his Soveral.  We also made quite a few forays to Peanut Island and Munion on his Sunfish.  He bought the beer for one of my birthday parties because "he could".  Bill introduced me to his collection of folk music which kindled my interest in playing the guitar.  I remember his "bug eyed" sprite and his 57 Chevy. Alot of good memories of Bill.  Sorry I lost touch.  But you will be remembered with much fondness my triend.  R.I.P.
