Living in the 21st Century
Posted Saturday, June 16, 2012 07:52 AM

And while it is we do, I find myself amazed that some people still live as if it were the 19th century. Matters not that they live in a big city or in a rural community. Some seem to not be able to allow their brain to function. One of the beauties of this site has been connecting with long lost friends, only to discover their minds have long since left them. While we as a people have evolved with time, and adapted, some seem stuck so far in the past that not even a time machine could bring them up to date. It's with great sadness that I watch this once great country go down the tubes. We are the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. A country founded believing in God. And those that came to our country learned our ways, spoke our language and did not expect us to adapt to their customs, learn their language, or deny us to believe in God. Since 1492, we have been an ENGLISH speaking country, and those that came here learned OUR language. Sadly, with all the illegals and the complete ignorance of the government, if for no other reason than to amass votes, we've become a melting pot succumbing to those that think we should bow down to them. I say...."if you don't like how we do it...go back to the cow pasture you came from"...!!! Small communities or counties, (some counties with less people than even a minimal sized city) just don't seem to understand. And when you have "educated" yet small minded people who live without the benefit of knowing how the real world operates, the cycle continues. And the government has become a joke. Once again, sadly, it's only going to get worse due to the "educated" casting their views on society. Even though their idea of society is a "one horse town". I have sincere pity for those that can't see the forest for the trees. And anyone who opposes GOD BLESS AMERICA should row their boat back to their "great" land of opportunity...!!!!!!!

Now where was that deep thinking back in "67". You would have gotten at least a 3.8 grade average if you had used that brain back then! There are a lot of us who agree with you. Unfortunately, we have become the silent majority. It is time to not be so silent and bring God to the forefront and take back "OUR" country. I, for one, am tired of the minority voters running this country. If that's the case.......then why don't the politicianms with the least votes win the elections?  Stand up Americans and be counted.

Way to go Joe!

Hey, Joe - I totally agree with your sentiments.  However, if we don't clean house in DC, nothing will change.

A few comments:

The English were late comers here after the Spanish, French and Dutch.  The Portugese were kept out by that Spanish Pope, Borgia soon after that Italian Colombo discovered Hispaniola.   First English to come and stay were 1607.

But English is the country's language now.

Spanish, French and Dutch came way after the Indians crossed the Bearing Sea and worked their way South and East.

You forgot the Polynesians and the Chinse and the Europeans that arrived before Leif Ericson during several of the ice ages.

Point was to Joe's claim that our country was English speaking since 1492.
