Craig Hanson Gruber, 70, of West Palm Beach, FL, peacefully passed away on March 28, 2016. He was a gentle, kind, and funny man, a loving husband and father, and a true, warm friend. Craig is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eileen Wagner Gruber; his sons, Chad M. Gruber (wife Jessica), Daniel C. Gruber (wife SueAnn), David Crosby (wife Fawn); his six grandchildren, whom he adored and to whom he was the best grandpa ever. Craig was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 5, 1945 to William Clifford Gruber and Alberta Barrett Gruber. He graduated from Riviera Beach High School in 1963, and from Stetson University, where he earned scholarships for both baseball and basketball, with a degree in History in 1967. Craig served honorably for three years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army, including service in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the Army, Craig settled in Dillon, CO, as a real estate professional, where he also enjoyed flying airplanes as a general aviation pilot. His other great love was fishing. Craig will be loving remembered and truly missed by family and friends. Craig requested a private memorial with his family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the at alz.org or Hospice of the Palm Beaches.
