In Memory

John Michael Higgins - Class Of 1964

HIGGINS, John Michael John Michael "Mike" Higgins, of Tequesta, born December 23, 1946, and passed October 10, 2018. A second generation Floridian, Mike grew up on Singer Island spending his free time on the water. He introduced and shared this passion with his treasured family. Mike's daughters and friends have a lifetime of wonderful memories from Sunday's on the sandbar to family trips to the Bahamas on his beloved boat "Cracker". For the last eight years, Mike was lucky enough to share his boat days with his wife, Rosa. Mike loved the University of Miami, where he pitched for the baseball team. Mike's love of sports could still be seen as he watched his grandchildren compete on their many teams. Mike is survived by his wife Rosa, his daughters Mattie (Mike) Hayes, Sharon (Eric) Swenson, his grandchildren, Michael, Ella, and Caden Hayes; John and Savannah Swenson; and his sister, Anne Black. He is also survived by Rosa's children Fernanda (Charles) Cirelli and Guilherme (Julia Chagas) Abreu. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Brian and Anne; his brother, Brian; and his wife, Sharon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Mike will be interred at Riverside Memorial Park in Jupiter on Friday, October 26 at 4:00PM.
