Curtis Brian Stuart, 77 of Ocala Florida, WAS CALLED HOME on November 2, 2023.
He was born in Kingman, Kansas on January 7, 1946, to George Ray Stuart and Lida Jane Stuart. Curtis attended Riviera High School in West Palm Beach. He married Catherine Martin in Ft. Lauderdale Florida on February 17, 1968.

Sgt. Curtis Stuart a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Army 173rd Airborne / Infantry 1963 – 1969 + 56 /days, His specialty training was in Airborne, Ranger School and Jungle Warfare Expert. His Basic Training, Leadership School and Advanced Infantry was in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Jump School, Jungle Warfare and Ranger School was in Fort Benning Georgia and Fort Sherman, Panama. Curtis served in Germany near the Cech Border and then to Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Bien Hoa, South Vietnam/Brigade Command Long Range Recon/Special Operations. There he had multiple assignments.

After serving his Country, Curtis started a career in Law Enforcement with the Sunrise Police Department. He then moved on to the Plantation Police Department in South Florida. He worked in many specialty units including Organized Crime/ Intelligence and Narcotic Trafficking, Money Laundering. He was SWAT Team Commander, Division Commander and Firearms Instructor, K-9 Division Supervisor and Tactical Supervisor.
Curtis is also a member of the Masonic Friendship Lodge #53 in Ocala and the Doric Lodge #140 in Fort Lauderdale.

Curtis and Catherine Stuart lived in Sunrise Florida for 39 years. He and Catherine retired to Ocala Florida and have lived here for 16 years. They enjoyed a 55-year marriage. Curtis enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle and RVing with his wife Catherine. He also enjoyed woodworking and refurbishing old Singer Sewing machines and cabinets.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Catherine Stuart, Curtis Stuart Jr. Son and DIL Leah Stuart of Ocala, Ryan and Kristyn Stuart Grandson and wife of Ocala, Jake Stuart Grandson of Ocala, Katie Stuart Granddaughter of Ocala, Tyler Sequeira Grandson of Sunrise Fl and Travis Sequeira Grandson of Tampa Fl.

Funeral service with military honors are scheduled for November 29th at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 2PM.
