Excuse Me for Living

Had our first read on this feature. It was set-up like a Sunday brunch. I sat between Dick Cavett, Robert Vaughn and Jerry Stiller. Hard to do. I read Christopher LLoyd's part as well as my own small part. Director thought about giving me Lloyd's part. Nottt.

But he later complimented me on my cold read of the mental patient who thinks he's the psychiatrist who runs the place.

Here's part of the cast. Lots of familiar faces:

Shot one of my scenes in the feature in the library of a luxury mansion in Westchester on the Long Island Sound that was substituting for the head of the clinic's office.

Sort of assembly line shooting:

When I arrived they were prepping for Robert Vaughn's master shot - him giving the lead a Rorshach test.

They then said they were going to shoot me next in a similar wide shot.  They called it tag team shooting.  I'm the evil psychiatrist who takes over from Vaughn's character.  After my wide they said that they were doing my close-up - well, a medium to somewhat close using a slider.  They were making Vaughn wait on me for his similar shot.  Of course we both had reverses - mine being last.

Mean time the director was very complimentary, telling me that they couldn't decide what role to give me, the one Dick Cavett ended up with or Wolfgang Heine, the evil German psychiatrist.  "That's why we were so late contacting you.  And you were great reading Chris Lloyd's part too.  You're quite the comedian."
